Ryland Kelly is a graduate of The Juilliard School where he studied bass, piano and composition with members of the New York Philharmonic and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Nationally, he has performed at such notable venues as The Blue Note, The Highline Ballroom, Sullivan Hall, and The Kennedy Center.
As a guitarist, he is featured on the album ‘My N.Y.’ with Jon Batiste and Stay Human which was recorded entirely on the NYC subway and streets. As a bassist, Ryland is featured on the album ‘Love Came Through’ by Apostles. As a composer he has collaborated extensively with classical pianist Evan Shinners. As a producer, Ryland released an EP with the group Kario Key entitled ‘Virgin Island’ on which he plays guitar as well.
Over the past few years Ryland has dedicated even more of his time to teaching Bass, Guitar, Piano, Drums, Rock Band and the music production/DJ software Ableton Live. He finds the experience of working with all ages and levels very inspiring and fulfilling. Ryland also finds the process of taking a student from their first lesson to their first concert to be very rewarding and looks forward to a continuing career in teaching music.
