Aleksandra Cvetkovic

VIOLIN TEACHER, PIANO TEACHER

Aleksandra Cvetkovic is a highly accomplished musician and educator with a rich background in both performance and pedagogy. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from The Saints Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Macedonia, and earned two Master’s degrees from The City University of New York: a Master’s in Performance (violin and piano)from Hunter College and a Master’s in Teaching Music from Lehman College, where she graduated with honors.

Dedicated to excellence in music education, Aleksandra completed a two-year Suzuki teacher training program at The School for Strings and participated in Starling-DeLay Violin Studies at The Juilliard School, studying under world-renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman.

Born into an artistic family in Belgrade, Serbia, Aleksandra began violin at age five and piano at ten. She was recognized nationally at just eight years old as the youngest performer featured on a televised program celebrating exceptional young musicians. By her teenage years, she was concertmaster of the Belgrade Youth Orchestra, graduating from a specialized music high school before the age of sixteen.

In addition to violin and piano, Aleksandra has expanded her expertise to include viola, cello, voice, composition, and conducting. Her performance highlights include appearances at Carnegie Hall with the New England Symphonic Ensemble and many seasons as a violist with the Lehman College Symphony Orchestra.

As an educator, Aleksandra brings extensive experience in both private and group settings. She has taught violin, viola, cello, piano, and voice, and has served as a music appreciation teacherchamber music conductorviolin ensemble director, and choral instructor. Aleksandra believes every student has unique musical abilities and that growth flourishes through encouragement, patience, and a personalized approach. She is passionate about nurturing musicians of all ages and helping them discover how music can enrich their lives at every stage.
