Dave Gould

Dave Gould is a dedicated vocal, piano, guitar, and drum educator based in Brooklyn, New York. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Dave graduated with honors from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in 2024. His rich performance background and love for teaching make him a dynamic and inspiring instructor for students of all ages.

Dave is passionate about helping young musicians discover their voices and develop strong musical skills through lessons that are both fun and structured. He has extensive experience preparing students for music recitals, exams, and college auditions, providing the tools and guidance they need to perform with confidence and joy. His teaching emphasizes healthy vocal technique, solid piano fundamentals, musical expression, and stage presence — all tailored to each student’s age, level, and goals.

As a performer, Dave has worked as a pianist with groups like Muo Duo and Rxagxn, and appeared on the TV show Wonderama. He has played salsa music for the off-Broadway show Latin Lover, and performed solo piano and vocal sets at venues such as the Walker Hotel and Book Club Bar. As the frontman of his blues/rock band The Third Rails, Dave has headlined notable NYC venues like The Bitter End and Arlene’s Grocery, and frequently performs at weddings and private events across the city.

Dave brings this real-world performance experience into his lessons, helping students not only build strong technical skills but also gain the confidence to shine on stage. His goal is to make learning music a positive, motivating, and memorable journey for every student.
