Beginner Class
This class is for newcomers to the game of chess. The goals of this class are twofold:
To teach students the rules of the game and to foster in them a passion for the great game of chess.
Intermediate class
After students have mastered the rules of chess, they will move to the intermediate class. The goal of the intermediate class is to introduce students to basic tactical and strategic concepts, such as pins, forks, skewers. Students will hone their understanding of these concepts and their ability to apply them through a combination of instruction and play.
Advanced class
The focus of the advanced class will be improving a child’s tournament level play. Students will learn how to improve all elements of their game. Particular focus will be put upon improving students’ visualization and upon applying increasingly complex tactical and strategic concepts into their own play.
